COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic lights) 

New Zealand is operating under a 3-tier traffic light system, we are moving to RED at 11:59pm on 23 January. 

While you are visiting our mountains, we ask that you adhere to the government guidelines which we are following for RED. 

You are legally required to provide your My Vaccine Pass to use Coronet Peak’s facilities which have vaccination requirements – unless 12 years and 3 months or younger.

Please stay home if you are unwell.

Red

Health and safety on our mountain

The health and safety of all our customers and staff is of the utmost importance to us. We are following government guidelines for RED – here are some of the things you can expect: 

  • You must be able to present a valid My Vaccine Pass – unless 12 years 3 months or younger 
  • Our dining offering will be adjusted to adhere to RED hospitality requirements - we will have limited capacity and physical distancing in place 
  • Masks are mandatory inside, in the gondola cabins and bike shuttles 
  • Sanitising stations will be placed around the base building
  • Covid-19 QR codes are placed around the mountain so please check-in on the NZ COVID Tracer App
  • Increased cleaning especially in high-traffic areas and surfaces

Vaccination Passports

You are legally required to provide your My Vaccine Pass to enter places that have vaccination requirements – unless 12 years 3 months or younger.

Chairlift and Gondola rides

You are legally required to provide your My Vaccine Pass to enter places that have vaccination requirements – unless 12 years and 3 months or younger.

Face coverings are mandatory in the gondola cabins and 1m physical distancing applies. 

Capacity restrictions may apply. 

Food & Beverage

You are legally required to provide your My Vaccine Pass to enter places that have vaccination requirements – unless 12 years and 3 months or younger.

Our F&B areas will be operating under the Ministry of Health guidelines for hospitality. 

We have limited capacity for up to 100 people, based on 1m physical distancing, seated and separated. 

Masks are mandatory, unless eating or drinking. 

We appreciate your patience with us in RED.

Contact Tracing Requirements

We encourage everyone to sign in using the Covid-19 Tracer App QR codes. These are positioned around our base building, in our lift queues. 

Events

Scheduled events at Coronet Peak will be reviewed to see if they can still operate safely under the Red level requirements as stated by the ministry of health.

Our Staff

Our staff will be ensuring they do everything they can to keep themselves and our guests safe while on mountain. 

All staff are fully vaccinated. 

We are cashless

We have become a cashless mountain. Please ensure you have a debit or credit card, or you have money loaded on to your MyPass card prior ro arriving on mountain.

You can load money on to your MyPass card by logging into your account on our website.

Refunds or cancellations

Event entry fee will be fully refunded if cancelled and we cannot reschedule before 3 April.

If you cannot travel to Coronet Peak due to a Government imposed travel restriction due to Covid 19, we will refund your event entry and credit your summer product. 

If you contract Covid 19 (which would prevent you from visiting Coronet Peak) we will refund you upon proof of your illness.

Orange FAQS

  • In ORANGE 1-metre physical distancing applies indoors 
  • Face coverings encouraged indoors and required on our bike shuttle and gondola cabins 
  • Sanitising stations will be placed around the base building
  • Covid-19 QR codes are placed around the mountain so please check-in on the NZ COVID Tracer App

In ORANGE, face coverings are encouraged in the gondola cabins.
