Matariki Viewing

July 10 | 6:15 AM - 9:00 AM

Celebrate Matariki at Coronet Peak on Friday 10 July from 6:15am.

Join us for a special sunrise experience as we gather at the top of Greengates Chair on Broughs Lane to view the Matariki constellation lighting up the winter sky. Guided by an astronomy expert, you’ll hear the stories and significance of Matariki, alongside a Karakia and insight into the importance of this time within Māori culture.

Enjoy some kai, early lift access via Greengates, and the rare chance to ski down at dawn under the glow of your torch or headlamp.

Please note participants must be confident skiing down from the top of Greengates in low-light conditions.

This event is weather dependent, with a weather call to be made on 9 July at 3pm. Bookings close Thursday 9 July at 8pm.
