FIS ANC - Slalom September 1st & 2nd
The first day of the Australia / New Zealand Slalom qualifier for the World Cup. Hosted by Coronet Peak and run by Winter Games, this international level event is another great race to watch as some of New Zealand and Australia’s best racers compete to qualify for the 2020 World Cup.
National Junior Alpine Champs - September 7th - 8th
The NZ Junior FIS Cup Series is a series of tech events designed to give young FIS athletes (U21) a developmental step into International FIS racing. The series consists of 5 Giant Slalom and 5 Slalom FIS races. Athletes must be registered with the Federation Internationale de Ski to compete. Spectators are welcome, so come down and watch these international level athletes attack the course!
Battle of the Basin
The Battle of the Basin pins school vs school in an epic race to determine the best skiing Primary School in the Wakatipu area and its surroundings. Weather permitting, 2019 will have two courses allowing for years 6, 7 & 8 to tackle gates on a slightly more challenging course than their year 3, 4 & 5 counterparts.
Peak to Peak
The Peak to Peak is South Island’s biggest winter multisport event. It attracts a strong field of multi-sport competitors from all around the South Island, and ends at Coronet Peak!

Quest Banked Slalom
QUEST returns with their infamous Quest Banked Slalom! In this FUN Snowboard Gravity Cross event competitors get two chances to score the best time. There are prizes for men's and women's fastest times, best dressed and best stack! Arguably the best fancy-dress event in Queenstown, if you’re not planning on participating you should definitely plan on spectating.
Speight's Dog Derby
On Saturday 21st of September the tradition continues! Come up and take part in one of Coronet Peak's longest running traditions - the Speight's Dog Derby, where humans and dogs race down the hill. We've got Country Dog and Townie Dog categories, so get your pooch on the piste.
This Junior Alpine Racing event is often the very beginning of an alpine skiers’ career. This event isn’t just for the competition teams, in fact, any child who has previously participated in our July holiday programs, ski club weeks, or QAST intro programs are encouraged to enter to get a taste of the exciting alpine racing world! Spectators are welcome, so come down and get amongst the action!
