Skiwiland is our purpose-built Early Childhood Education (ECE) centre. A haven of warmth and excitement, carefully designed for children. With exclusive access to a secure outdoor yard equipped with toys, a surface ski lift, tools and provocations, your little one will explore the wonder of snow through our engaging snow play programmes.

Skiwiland is our purpose-built Early Childhood Education (ECE) centre. A haven of warmth and excitement, carefully designed for children. As you step into our welcoming space, you'll be greeted by our passionate team of qualified teachers and ski instructors, all dedicated to nurturing your child's love for Snowsports.
Snowplay allows children to experience snow, discovering its properties, slipperiness, and temperature, all while mastering the right clothing for snowy adventures. This is not a ski programme.
They build trusting relationships with teachers who support them through a range of experiences to enjoy the mountain and its weather, embracing its beauty and sometimes wild nature.
Children ride the magic carpet, gaining independence and observing ski lessons, shaping their understanding of Snowsports. Snowplay fosters a sense of belonging and builds confidence, offering a relaxed introduction to the world of Snow without the pressure of keeping up.
Please note that your child needs to be over 2 years old and under 6 years old to enroll in our Skiwiland Snowplay programme.

What to bring?
- Waterproof jacket, pants, or suit
- Mittens/gloves
- Change of clothes including extra underwear
- Nappies/pull‐ups if required.
- Comfort items - dummy, toy, etc.

Faqs
Skiwiland is a fully licensed Early Learning and Childcare Centre that caters for children aged from 2-5 years, designed to help young skiers build confidence in a fun and supportive environment. Our learning experiences are informed by the NZ ECE curriculum and we offer a range of experiences to build confidence that includes playing in the snow and even skiing.
If you are booked for the group ski, we recommend arriving between 9 and 9:15 to ensure sufficient time for completing enrolment and handover information. Time to fit boots and skis and for your child to practice moving in new equipment before heading out onto snow for the morning. If you arrive after 9:45 your child may need to do snowplay for the morning to avoid rushing and overwhelming them.
If you are booked for snowplay, we recommend arriving between 9 and 10am, although we can accept your child at any time. However, please avoid lunch time drop-offs as there is often no teacher available for handover.
- Waterproof clothing and suitable footwear
- Any comfort items that will support your child to enjoy their day and transition from your care to ours
- Food and water are provided, however, if your child has severe allergies or special dietary requirements you may like to bring their own food. We do recommend contacting the teaching team prior to your visit if you have any special requirements
- Spare nappies if your child is using them
- Spare set of clothes, snow can be quite wet
- Appropriate Socks for skiing. Knee length socks are preferable
- Your child only needs to wear one set of leggings, trackies or tights under their ski suit
